| Title : | TWO SPECIES OF GENUS NIPHARGUS SCHIÖDTE, 1849 (FAM. NIPHARGIDAE) NEW FOR FAUNA OF ALBANIA (CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE AMPHIPODA 346) |
| Abstract : | From the subterranean waters of Vjosa and Shushica Rivers in southern Albania, with its tributaries, two species of genus Niphargus (Crustacea, Amphipoda: Niphargidae) known in some adjacent regions, are discovered at the first time in Albania, Niphargus (Orniphargus) lourensis lourensis Fišer et al., 2006, and Niphargus (Jovoniphargus) multipennatus Sket, 1956. As specimens of both species were rather damaged and not adult, both species are here only partially redescribed and figured, to recognize and confirm existence of these species in Albania. |
