B.Sc. & M.Sc. Thesis: “Forest stand-history reconstruction along an altitudinal gradient in the upper Susa valley, Piedmont, Italy”.
Currently is full Professor of Forest Ecology and Silviculture (University of Turin and Vice-President and deputy coordinator of the Silviculture group in the Italian Society of Silviculture and Forest Ecology (SISEF).

He is also member of the Committee of the Doctoral School of
Sciences and Innovative technologies, PhD in Food Science, Agriculture and Forestry, University of Turin and Associated member of the Italian Academy of Forest Science.

He is Associated editor of the ISI Journal Dendrochronologia and co-editor of the ISI journal iForest and member of the editorial board of the following journals: L’Italia Forestale e Montana, Glasnik, University of Banja Luka (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and Collana “Scienze forestali e ambientali” Compagnia delle foreste.
He has published more than 350 scientific papers of which 54 are ISI papers (H index ISI: 18; 800 citations; H index Google scholar: 21, 1500 citations and more than 100 papers).
